Workshops &

4 Block Quilt: Patterns offered and techniques used in making quadrant quilts as they did in the 1840's and beyond.
Mock Appraisals: Student bring pieces and discussion is held on what we look for in an appraisal.
How Do I Become an Appraiser: Just what do you have to do to become certified as an appraiser of quilted textiles. What do I need to know before pursuing this path of study? How do I get that information? Can I study on my own and achieve what I need? Each of these areas will be discussed as well as the route to certification.
Trunk Show: Quilts from my collection are brought and discussed. The focus of the quilts may be your choice - Memory Quilts, Antique Quilts, Varied Technique Quilts, and Block Exchange/Fabric Exchange Quits.

Lectures:

Those Funky Princess Feather Quilts: A couple of years ago I started collecting Princess Feather quilts. Not the pristine ones that we think of but ones that are 'funky', takeoffs on the Princess Feather. I have had patterns drafted and friends are making replicas of these quilts, so the originals as well as the replicas will be presented. A very interesting and entertaining lecture.
Should I Quilt That Old Top or Blocks?: Advise so to whether nor not to quilt an old top or blocks. If it is okay to quilt it, some suggestions on how and what to use will be offered. If it is not okay to quilt, how to preserve and yet use.

Her most extensive research as been done on an album quilt dating from the late 1880’s, documenting the lives of four generations of women who migrated from South Carolina to Kansas and the family’s struggle to live in a “free state”. Several of Libby’s quilts may be seen in Kansas City Star’s Star Quilts and Star Quilts II books.
